Presentation Scan (35 Weeks - Full Term)
A Presentation Scan is a private ultrasound scan offered between 35 weeks and a full term of pregnancy. At Sonoclinic, we perform this scan to assess the baby’s position in the womb, estimate foetal weight, and assess the placental location.
The presentation scan is available for individuals aged 16 and over. A skilled sonographer with diagnostic expertise usually conducts the scan. The package includes:
- 15-minute diagnostic session. This timeframe covers check-in, scanning, reviewing images if there is enough time, and an opportunity to ask the sonographer questions.
- Baby’s wellbeing check. We monitor the heartbeat; if anything unexpected is detected, our sonographer will provide appropriate guidance.
- Growth report & projected foetal weight
- 2D black-and-white ultrasound prints
- Printed pictures
- Comprehensive diagnostic report
In addition, we provide complimentary sex determination upon request, though this is not guaranteed at this late stage. If your baby’s position allows, we will perform this. Furthermore, you can experience 4D Freeview and get thermal black-and-white 3D prints if you want. However, as it is not the main reason for the scan, a free rescan cannot be offered if visibility is limited.
A detailed written report of your scan results plus recommendations for any necessary next steps will be provided.
How to Prepare For the Scan
If possible, dress in a two-piece outfit such as a skirt or trousers with a top. This will enable the sonographer to easily access the abdomen. You may also invite up to five guests to accompany you for the scan.
