What to Expect from the PCOS Advanced Blood Test
Since this test is performed like any other blood test, you will be required to expose either your left or right arm so that the vein can be located. A strap is wrapped and tightened around the upper arm in order to make the veins more prominent. A needle is then inserted into the vein, and a small amount of blood is taken.
After the procedure, a small plaster is applied to the site, and you can remove it after a few minutes.
How to Prepare
There are no special preparation requirements. However, to allow for easy access to your arm during blood withdrawal, it is recommended that you wear loose clothing. Usually, the test should be done while fasting and on the second or third day of your menstrual cycle for the most accurate results.
