Wrist and Hand Scan
Writs and hand scan is an ultrasound examination that focuses on assessing one wrist and hand for various conditions. It is ideal for individuals aged 16 and above and involves the evaluation of:
- Wrist joint
- Ligaments
- Carpal tunnel
- Flexor and extensor tendons
- Small hand joints
- Soft-tissue swelling
- Related annular and cruciate pulleys
Purpose of This Scan
The wrist and hand scan helps identify reasons for pain, potential injuries or tendon inflammation related to conditions like:
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Trigger finger
- Tendinosis
- Ganglions
- Degenerative conditions, including arthritis
If you are currently receiving care from a GP, do not schedule this scan. Instead, consult them about whether a scan is necessary.
What to Expect
- Your scan will be done by our experienced sonographers.
- You will receive a detailed written report that outlines your results and the next steps.
- If medical follow-up is required, we can send a copy of your report to your healthcare provider via email.
- You will also be given printed images and a diagnostic report after the scan.
